NATIONAL YOUTH
ASSEMBLY OF CofS
Please pray for our two delegates
from Maxwell (Danny McIntosh and
Emily McTear) who are representing
our church and Glasgow Presbytery at
this weekend’s event. Chris Long is
one of the main organisers of Youth
Assembly so is not available at
Maxwell from Friday to Monday.
BAPTISM
Katie Pragnell is being baptised
next Sunday 12th Sept. She would
like to invite the church family to
share in the celebration by joining
her for a light lunch after the
morning service. Please remember her
in your prayers as she prepares for
the day.
LADIES EVENING BIBLE STUDY
We are starting back on Tuesday 14th
Sept. We will continue our study of
Peter and our first meeting is at
the home of Sue Amery Behr, 7 Floors
Rd, Waterfoot, at 8pm. Please let me
know if you are interested in coming
along - you will be very welcome.

TUESDAY PM BIBLE STUDY
The Group meets every Tuesday
afternoon at the home of Elspeth
Burgess beginning at 2pm for
tea/coffee, fellowship and Bible
Study. Our first meeting after the
summer break will be on 7th
September, when we will continue
with our study of the Lord’s Prayer.
Do come along and join us – new
members will be made very welcome.
THE REFORMATION
The second of the 3 part series on
the Reformation, run as a joint
venture by the Newton Mearns and
Eaglesham parish grouping, continues
on Thursday 9 September at 7.30pm at
Broom Church. Steven Reid of Glasgow
University will be talking about the
History of the Reformation.
BEREAVEMENT FRIENDSHIP GROUP
This group meets in the New Hall,
Mearns Kirk Parish church at 7pm on
the 1st Tuesday of each month and
10am on the 3rd Saturday. The group
offers support to folks who are
struggling after losing a loved one.
In an informal setting the group
allows people to come together for
coffee and a chat, and to find help
through one of the most difficult
experiences of life.
KOVWIRANA CONCERT – ‘Sixties
Style’
Saturday 18 September, 7.30pm. Sons
of Thunder concert supporting
HIV/Aids Support & Care Program,
Ekwendeni, Malawi. See notice board

DISCIPLESHIP EXPLORED
We will be running this course for
eight weeks, each Wednesday evening,
from 29 September until 17 November.
Each one of us is called to be a
disciple but what does that really
mean? Watch out for more information
in the coming weeks. Any questions

BIBLE STUDY MATERIAL
Some of the material we used to have
in the office has been lent out to
various bible study groups and not
returned. Please look at your
bookshelves and see if you have any
that you would be prepared to donate
to the office collection (especially
the study on Revelation). Thank you.
RIGHT CONNEXIONS QUIZ
We are looking to host a quiz in
November. Further details to follow
but in the meantime, 2 quiz masters
required!.
