Directions
Note: The church is located down a narrow road; the entrance
is concealed between houses and Mearns Castle High School.
There is a church sign at the top of the road pointing to
the lane.

From Glasgow
(non-motorway):
Travel down Union Street with Glasgow Central Railway
Station on your right hand side crossing over 3 sets of
traffic lights, cross Jamaica Bridge onto Bridge Street A77
go straight ahead at traffic lights following signs for
Kilmarnock.
After 2 ½ miles pass Queens Park on your left hand side at
the next set of lights (junction with Minard Road) go
straight ahead and bear into left hand lane. At next
junction with lights bear left onto Kilmarnock Road. Keep
following signposts for Kilmarnock. After 2 ½ miles at first
roundabout, junction with A726 (Eastwood roundabout,) take
2nd exit onto Ayr Road continue along this road through next
set of lights passing a golf course on your right hand side.
Go through mini roundabout and after ½ mile arrive at Mearns
Cross lights (Asda on right hand side). Turn left along
Eaglesham Road, follow road to a “T” junction with Mearns
Road. Turn left onto Mearns Road then first right into
Waterfoot Road. (Sign for Mearns cemetery) Follow road for
about ¼ mile, church entrance on left hand side before the
Mearns Castle High School.
Approx. time from Glasgow City to church is 25 minutes

From Glasgow by Motorway:
Head for the Kingston bridge once over bridge take M77 south
to junction 4 (Newton Mearns). Exit at junction 4 follow
road to roundabout. Go straight across onto Crookfur Rd.
Follow road straight on at traffic lights, under bridge
until arriving at roundabout on A77 (Ayr Rd) Turn right onto
A77 heading towards Mearns Cross (ASDA). At the traffic
lights (petrol station on left hand side), turn left along
Eaglesham Rd. Follow road along to T-junction with Mearns
Rd. Turn left onto Mearns Rd and then first right into
Waterfoot Rd. Follow road about quarter of a mile, church
entrance on left side before Mearns Castle High School.
Journey time from Kingston Bridge approx 18 minutes

From M74 (Hamilton Service station)
At junction 6, pass Hamilton Service
Station on left hand side and take left hand lane. After 1
mile come off at junction 5 with B7071 at roundabout take
1st exit left. Now on A725 keep in left hand lane and
proceed along A725 for approx. 4 miles .Look out for fork in
the road and take outside lane travel along A749 for ¼ mile.
At roundabout (Whitemoss Roundabout) take 3rd exit
signposted B726 Busby. Proceed along this road (Stewartfield)
crossing over 6 roundabouts: at 5th roundabout you will pass
Country Life Museum on your right hand side. At the 6th
roundabout get into outside lane and take 3rd exit
signposted Paisley A725 the Hilton Hotel is on your right
hand side, Proceed for further ½ mile at roundabout with
B766 take 2nd exit, carry on for 1.5 miles through village
of Busby travelling underneath railway bridge. At next
roundabout (Sheddens Roundabout) take 1st exit onto
Eaglesham Road B767, travel along for 1 1/2 miles passing
Greenbank Church on right hand side. Look out on left hand
side for village road sign “Waterfoot” once passed this take
first right into Waterfoot Road). Proceed for 1/2 mile
passing Mearns Golf Academy on right hand side. At “T”
junction turn left and the Church entrance is 150 yards
along on your right hand side past the school.
There is a notice indicating the Church lane on your left
hand side.
Journey time from Hamilton Service Station is approx 25
minutes

From Ayr:
Leave town of Ayr on A719 New Bridge Street, crossing River
Ayr stay on A719 for 1/3 rd mile at next junction with A79
there is a roundabout take 2nd exit (signposted Kilmarnock
A77.) You will pass Ayr Racecourse on your right hand side.
After ½ mile meet junction with A77 at the roundabout take
2nd exit A77 (signposted Kilmarnock.). After ½ mile you will
meet the Sandyford Roundabout cross over this and proceed
for another ½ mile to arrive at a Roundabout with the
junction A78. Take 3rd exit and proceed along A77/M77 for
approx 13 miles passing junctions with B7038, A71/A76/A735.
Leave motorway at Junction 5 signposted A726 East Kilbride
take right hand lane. Cross over motorway move into inside
lane and take 2nd exit signposted East Kilbride. After 3/4
mile take 1st exit signposted Newton Mearns (watch sharp
bend here) take 2nd exit signposted Newton Mearns North.
Cross over mini roundabout, at next junction (Mearnskirk
Roundabout) take 1st exit and proceed passing white church
on left hand side, proceed for 150 yards and take first
right into Waterfoot Road. . Follow road for about ¼ mile,
church entrance on left hand side before Mearns Castle High
School.
Journey time from Ayr is approx 40 minutes

Via Thornliebank: (e.g. from Paisley, Glasgow Airport)
Follow A726 passing Rouken Glen park (on the right) to
Giffnock Toll. At the roundabout turn right onto the A77 and
then follow the road to Mearns Cross. As From Glasgow above. |

Via Clarkston: (e.g. from Muirend, Busby, East Kilbride)
From Clarkston toll go round the roundabout until you are
heading towards Busby. Take the right hand lane just before
the pelican crossing at the petrol station. Turn right
following this short road which will join the Mearns road.
Follow the Mearns road passing the Texaco garage on the left
until you get to Broom Church on your left. At the pelican
crossing turn left into Broom Road East. Follow this road up
the hill towards Mearns Castle School. The church entrance
is on the right just after the school car park. |

Via Waterfoot: (e.g. from Eaglesham, East Kilbride)
Through Waterfoot towards Busby, turn left onto Waterfoot
road. Follow this road to the junction at Mearns Castle
School. Turn left, the church entrance is on the right just
after the school car park. |

Via Barrhead: (e.g. from Neilston, Irvine)
From the centre of Barrhead, follow the Main street towards
Glasgow and turn right at the roundabout towards Crookfur /
Newton Mearns. Follow this road up the hill passing the
reservoirs. Go straight at the lights passing Whitecraigs
rugby club on your left. At the roundabout go straight on
until you reach the traffic lights at Mearns Cross. Turn
left at the the first set of lights at Mearns Cross (ASDA).
At the second set of lights, turn right onto Eaglesham Road.
From here, same directions from Eaglesham Rd as From Glasgow
