This was sewn to celebrate the return of the congregation from Mearns Castle High School to the Church after storm damage to the Church was repaired.
The church was originally resurrected from its original site - now under the approach roads to the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.
This peacock-like phoenix is meant as a symbol of this double resurrection of Maxwell Mearns Castle Church.
